After a few conversations with Max (friend that owns body shop) and a little arm twisting Max agreed to spray the GT but only if I did all the prep and donkey work (masking etc.) Which I agreed to. Max also agreed to keep me right as I have never done body work on this scale before. So how did it go? Let’s find out.

Many saturday and sunday spent finishing off the repairs and preping the rest of the car for the primera coat. The door checks also had to be done due to careless person with seatbelts.

After the repairs were complete Max called me ask me to go in on a saturday morning for 08:00 as he had a task for me to complete. When i turned up a few minutes before he did. He opened up and opened up the booth asking me to help remove the bumpers, side skits and rear spoiler which were all in primer.

So my task which i knew was coming but I really wasn’t looking forward too. Move the GT into the booth and get it all masked off with a 12:00 dead line as Max would be back to primer the full body. Being terrible at wrapping things like birthday presents etc. I wasn’t looking forward to this. But I got too it after all I only had 4hrs is to get it done. I mean how hard can it be?

Finished my work ahead of time and what i think was a good job. Max arrived and checked it over and was pleased but pointed a couple areas i could have done differently and it would have been easier. He then said come back tomorrow around 09:00. I left headed home.
Next morning i arrived at 09:00 to meet Max at the door. He opened up and said move the the car back to the bay and here is some sandpaper the DA and start sanding. you want to keep it smooth and it should come pack to grey it had a black coat that helps see when sanding the body.
I opened up the booth and noticed the first colour, The door checks had been painted and lacquered.

I removed enough masking to be able to move the car out and back to it’s bay and got to sanding. Tthe car started to look really good even though it was just in primer.
