In the last post i mentioned all the work had stopped on the GT. A new plan was required. Read on and i’ll explain.

After many phone calls and visits to the body shop asking for him to get the cost and purchase the various materials required for the GT over a period of months. The last conversation being January 2018 a new plan of action was decided.

On 20th May i arrived at a friends to borrow his car trailer 09:00 i drove over to friends and heading for the body shop. Arriving at the body should approx 09:30. The first priority was to get the Gt loaded on the trailer (i had key for body shop). I figured should he turn up nothing he could really do if to stop me driving off with the GT once safe on the trailer.

I quickly fired up the compressor and blew off what dust i could. Fitted my spare battery and the Gt fired up on first turn.

After 40mins or so of moving stuff and manoeuvring the GT. It was free from the unit and loaded on the trailer.
The Phoenix wasn’t looking her best in any form, 2.5years of ground in dust. I made as much of the car secure for the road trip as I could. Taped tarpaulin over the windows and removed any real insecure parts and placed them in the X-trail. One final check over the garage making sure I hadn’t left anything behind brushed up the floor where the GT once sat. Powered down the compressor then locked up and hit the road.

I arranged with my friend who’s body shop has painted many of my cars (he could’nt paint the GT at the time) to rent some space off him to allow me to finish the body work preparation. Once I got the GT to my friend’s body shop it was given a wash as best I could as it had no windows etc. Once the GT was securely parked up in the bay (its home for now) I returned the trailer back to fiends and went home to relax after a successful operation
