HillClimb Car Prep Complete

Once the car was back from Millermods Garage i still had a list of things to do. Due to the class i wanted to run in i’m limited to what i can change on the car.

I had to follow the MSA 2023 yearbook also known as theblue book. Being in class A1 which is road going class up to 1400cc. The car must retain all the features it left the factory with the exception of the carpet and parcel shelf if fitted and fit road legal.

The first task was to refit the interior. You can see the race seat fitted along with a 6 point harness. Neither are required for road class but better to be safe. I also refitted the carpet as it really wasn’t that heavy anyway. I never got that many pictures as i got carried away refitting everything.

As per the regulations i had to mark the towing eyes, this is done by painting them a different colour from the car and identifying labels. The ignition barrel also has to be marked with the off direction and lastly the negative terminal must be coloured yellow (yellow tape will do).

Lastly i had to change the tyres as the Toyo’s i had are not on the authorized list (list 1a). I opted for a set of Uniroyal Rain Expert 3 – 165/65 R13 77T TL which are slightly smaller than the Toyo’s

Once i bought all the safety gear from Mcgill Motorsport all i had to do was wait untill the first even on the 18th April 2023.
